Mr. Jackson’s Testimony – Age 75 – Polk County, NC
At 75 years old, Mr. Jackson came to Out of the Ashes just three weeks ago, hoping for a fresh start. A native of Polk County, Mr. Jackson is embracing this opportunity with humility, faith, and determination. He’s been drug-free and alcohol-free since arriving, and we thank God for that. He’s faithfully attending chapel services, participating in recovery meetings, and even sharing his wisdom with some of the younger men in the program. His presence has already become a quiet strength in our community.
In Mr. Jackson’s own words:
“Since I’ve been here, it feels like I haven’t truly lived in years. I’m serious about that. Out of the Ashes is the best thing that could’ve happened to me, and I thank the Lord for bringing me here. My life has been changed. I’ve been to rehab before and tried to quit, but since I’ve been here, drugs haven’t even been on my mind. I pray I can stay like this. Every morning I wake up now, I wake up to the Lord and to a new day with purpose.”
Mr. Jackson is currently working toward long-term housing and seeking employment. He’s making the most of this opportunity, one day at a time, with gratitude in his heart and a renewed spirit. We’re honored to walk with him on this journey—and we give all glory to God for the transformation that’s already taking place.
